Boult Audio Airbass Combuds Review | Best TWS under 1200?

Boult launched a new TWS Earbuds known as Boult Audio AirBass Combuds TWS. The simple yet sleek look of the Combuds really amazed us.

We successfully got our hands on this recent TWS Earphones of theirs and have been testing it for quite some time now. Is it worth the hype and price? Or not?

Let’s find out together.

Inside the Box:

The package consists of a pair of Boult Airbass Combuds, a charging case, a Charging Cable, 2 pairs of extra ear tips, a user manual, and a Warranty Card.

Built Quality:

The quality of the case and combuds is really lovely. Both the case and the combuds are made of polycarbonate material. The case is shaped like a pill and has curved edges. The case has a matte finish and Boult Audio written on the outside along with their logo. The inside of the case is matte too along with 2 cutouts for placing the earbuds. It also has a battery status button and 4 LED indicators, which indicate the battery on the case.

The case also has a USB port on the back for charging.

The combuds have a simple yet classy look and have a flat back with a Touch surface on the back along with an LED indicator and the Boult Logo. The combuds are angled and also have silicone ear tips. Because of this they stay put in the ear quite comfortably.

The Airbus Combuds are IPX5 rated, which means they are sweat-resistant and resistant to light splashes.

Pairing Speed:

The Boult Audio Airbass Combuds use Bluetooth 5.0 technology.

The Combuds power on and enter connection mode as soon as one takes them out of the charging case lid.

Controls :

Both the combuds have Multi Function touch Button or MFB which can be used to Activate Voice Assistant, Answer or Hang Up calls, Reject calls, Play or Pause the music, and change the music track.

One can control these by the following means:

• Reject a Call: Press MFB for 1 second to reject an incoming call.
• Answer a Call: Press the Multi Function Touch Button to answer an incoming call and again to hang up the ongoing call.
• Activating Voice Assistant: Press and hold the MFB on either earbud for 1 second until the “beep” sound happens to activate the voice assistant.
• Play/Pause: When playing music, press the Multi Function Touch Button once to pause and again to play the music at your convenience.
• Next Track: When playing music, touch the MFB of the right earbud twice to play the next track.
• Previous Track: When playing music, touch the MFB of the left earbud twice to play the previous track.

Game Mode (Low Latency Mode):

Entering the game mode: Quickly press 3 times on any earbud and you will hear “beep” once.

Exiting the game mode: Quickly press 3 times on any of the combud and you will hear “beep” twice.

Sound Quality :

After using these Airbass Combuds for quite some time we can say that the Sound Quality of these is actually somewhat nice. The vocals are quite clear and the bass is also quite nice. Being in this price range is really a steal.

Noise Cancelling :

As soon as you put these into your ear, you will notice that around 50% of the noise has been blocked. But while being on call in a noisy environment, it tends to catch a little bit of the background noise.

Call Quality :

The call quality on Airbass Combuds is okay-ish. We used these to talk over the phone and our experience was satisfying. However, it does not cancels out the background noises completely when being in a noisy environment.

Battery life :

Once charged fully, the Airbass Combuds lasted around 3 hours with the volume level at 80%.

Using the case, one can charge these four 4 additional times. It took around 2 hrs for the case to be fully charged.

The total playback time on these Airbass Combuds is around 12-15 hours depending on the volume.

Worth the Price :

Being in the 1499 INR price range, we think that the Airbass Combuds’ built quality, look and overall sound quality are really nice. The Combuds also snuggly fit really well in the ears. The IPX5 water and sweat resistance is also a good touch.

According to us, these Airbass Combuds are really worth the price you’ll pay for them. Also, you could get these at 999 INR via Flipkart for a limited period of time.
