Ilie Lucian has over 15 years of hands-on IT experience. He started his career in hardware repair and progressed to full network and server administration. Today, he is a Technical Department Manager leading a team of 15 people, where he is responsible for securing the IT infrastructure of multiple companies.

His real-world expertise includes:

  • Securing corporate networks with VLAN segmentation, OPNsense firewalls, and WireGuard VPNs.

  • Implementing advanced security monitoring using SIEM (Wazuh) and custom-built NDR systems.

  • Handling real security incidents, including stopping a crypto phishing attack in seconds and recovering 90% of the funds.

  • Developing machine learning tools, such as a SQL injection detector (SnortML) using TensorFlow.

Ilie holds the Security Engineer Level 1 (SEC1) certification from TryHackMe and is actively pursuing CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certifications, alongside a BSc in Computer Science.
